Dr. Keim was a four year Division I Letterman in Baseball at the University Of The Pacific and is an NCAA Recognized Speaker on Life Skills, Substance Abuse Issues, and Diversity. He has spoken to over 2000 campuses and 2 million students and addresses the keys issues facing student athletes as they attempt to balance their scholarship and athletic lives. PADS stands for:
• Passion in practice and play
• Academic achievement
• Drug free living
• Sexual responsibility
Student Athletes are reminded that they are role models and can choose to be good ones or poor ones. Dr. Keim approaches their success utilizing the work of John Wooden and his definition of success and the tips for living that served so many student athletes so well during Coach Wooden's career at UCLA. Dr. Keim holds endorsements from Athletic Directors Craig Littlepage of Virginia, Mitch Barnhart of Kentucky, Dr. Ted Leland, formerly of Stanford University, as well as Lou Holtz, ESPN Game Day Commentator and former Notre Dame Football Coach, Women's Basketball Coach Mickie Demoss, and Ross Perot amonst many others. Student Athletes of color and women are challenged to level the playing field in America by completing their degrees and taking their rightful place as leaders in the world. This presentation can be addressed to individual teams, the Student Athletic Advisory Committee, Coaches and Administrators, as well as the entire Student Athlete body. There are 360,000 NCAA student athletes in the nation and most of them will go to work in occupations that demand the skills Dr. Keim teaches. This presentation has also been delivered to NAIA Student Athletes and Champions of Character.
