DEATH BY POWER POINT: HOLDING THE AUDIENCE'S ATTENTION WITH THE POWER OF THE SPOKEN WORD
Having spoken to more students on more campuses than anyone in our nation, Dr. Keim teaches students the 15 Essential Traits of Every Effective Speech. "My goal is to deliver speeches that are precise in detail, persuasive in appeal, and passionate in delivey." Students learn to enhance the basic strategy for public speaking; that is, tell them what you are going to tell them (introduction); tell them (body); and tell them what you told them (conclusion). Each of these three important areas is broken down into five specific parts that assist the speaker in making a coherent, interesting, and audience inspiring presentation. The role of power point is explained as a visual aid, not the focus of the presentation. Practice, practice, practice is the mantra; and students learn interesting ways to do just that. This talk can be delivered to student leaders, emerging leaders, chapter and organization presidents, and sales professionals.
